Prayer
Abba heavenly Father, thank You for Your resurrection power that is alive in me. I choose to keep my eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of my faith. Thank You that no matter how dark it looks, my day of breakthrough is on its way. Lord I thank You for Your goodness and favor in my life. I trust that You are working all the time on my behalf. I trust that Your plans are to prosper me and give me a future and a hope. I set my mind and heart on You this day and expect to see Your goodness. Lord, thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for the gift of work. Thank you for allowing me to join you in your work in this world.
Lord Jesus, there are times when I ask, “Where is the peace in the darkest nights of the soul? Where is the comfort in such unbearable pain?” And yet, today I see that You who suffered such pain and anguish, have taken the harsh realities of this world and blended them with the next life. Please help my heart live in both realities. Help me today begin to experience the peace that You are talking about. Lord, help me step out in faith today. As I trust You and You reveal Your power and Your majesty to me, help me to trust You more. Build a faith in me until I am fully persuaded that You have the power to do all that You have promised. Lord, I believe, help my unbelief. Help me to feel another person’s hurt and be concerned so that I may shed the light of Your love in a caring way. How I thank you, Lord, that I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, to you, my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.
Open our eyes today to see you. Help us to offer to you, with awe and wonder, the sacrifice of thanksgiving and praise. I am waiting, Lord, for Your Spirit to rain down upon me and soak me with Your loving kindness. Drench me in the waters of love and life. We are grateful your kindness towards us O Lord. You provide the context for all that we do. You give us all that we need, and more, to be faithful to you. Guide me as I try to be the person I think You want me to be. Help me to strive for the world I imagine this one could be, with Your aid. We ask this in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amen
