Verse of the Day
The one thing I ask of the LORD, the thing I seek most, is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. – My heart has heard you say, ‘Come and talk with me.’ And my heart responds, ‘LORD, I am coming. Psalms 27:4, 8 (NLT)
Prayer
Dearest Father God, , today I open my heart and mind to the great things You have in store for my future. I choose to be faithful. I choose to prepare. I won’t look to the left or to the right, but I will keep my eyes on You, Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith! Lord, thank You for depositing in me everything that I need for life and godliness. I choose to be faithful with what You have given me. I choose to sharpen my skills. Help me prepare for every opportunity You have for my future.
Dear Father, you know my heart. You know my circumstances. You know my needs. I come to You today and am fixing my thoughts on You, Your love for me and Your ability to overcome all my negativity. I ask for Your peace to fill my heart and mind. It is my prayer today that, as David wrote in Psalm 34:10, they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of every good thing. Give me an intimacy with you as I learn to surrender more to You each day. Though I don’t deserve Your loving care and forgiveness, Lord, I continually thank You that You give it to me so freely. Help me to accept it graciously, and to know that You hold nothing against me once I ask Your pardon.
Loving Father, it’s a magnificent thing to envision the future when all sorts of peoples are gathered together as one. We have such trouble with this sort of thing today. Forgive us for all the ways we divide, judge, condemn, and wrong others. Forgive us for systemic injustices we perpetuate, often without even seeing what we’re doing. Forgive us for failing to love our neighbors, our real neighbors, the ones who live nearby or work in the next office. As we look forward to the grand reunion of the future, help us, Lord, to be people who reach beyond the differences and divisions of our age. May we be people of grace, love, and reconciliation. May we uphold your justice in all of our relationships. May we use the power you have entrusted to us to see your justice and grace embodied in our organizations and institutions. May we begin to live in your future now. All praise be to you, O God. In Jesus’ mighty name, I Pray, Amen

Prayer Quote of the day
Prayer, in one phase of its operation, is a disinfectant and a preventive. It purifies the air; it destroys the contagion of evil.
